Domane+ ALR 5 is Trek's electric-assist take on endurance road riding — an aluminium frame, a TQ HPR60 motor so quiet and natural-feeling you'd barely know it's there, and a SRAM Apex XPLR drivetrain built for wide-range gearing on mixed terrain.

WHO THIS BIKE SUITS

  • Riders who want extra support on longer routes or bigger climbs without it feeling like riding a motorbike
  • Anyone returning to road cycling after time off, or riding with a faster group and wanting to keep pace comfortably
  • Riders who want one bike that handles both road and light gravel, helped along by a subtle motor boost

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT

If you want a purely human-powered Domane, any bike in the AL, SL, or SLR range delivers the same endurance geometry and comfort without the extra weight and cost of a motor system.

WHERE IT SITS IN THE RANGE

This is currently our lead Domane+ model — the electric-assist branch of the Domane family, built for riders who want the range's signature comfort with the option of assistance when they want it.

HOW IT RIDES

The TQ HPR60 motor is genuinely subtle — whisper-quiet and offering natural-feeling assist up to 25 km/h, so it never feels like it's doing the riding for you. Combined with the SRAM Apex XPLR drivetrain's wide 11-44 range, it's a confident bike on longer, hillier routes where a standard road bike might start to feel like hard work.

THE FINAL WORD

The Domane+ ALR 5 is for riders who want to go further and tackle more climbing without giving up the feel of a genuine road bike.
