The Trek Speed Concept SLR 9 2027 tops the Shimano side of the range — 800 Series OCLV Carbon, fully integrated aero cockpit, and Shimano's best groupset, Dura-Ace Di2.
WHO THIS BIKE SUITS
You want Shimano's best groupset on Trek's flagship TT/tri platform.
You want the deepest Bontrager Aeolus RSL 51 wheels the range offers.
You're racing seriously and want no compromises on drivetrain performance.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT
If Ultegra Di2 covers what you need, the SLR 7 gets you the identical frame for considerably less.
WHERE IT SITS IN THE RANGE
The SLR 9 is the top of the Shimano side of the Speed Concept range — identical 800 Series carbon frame to the SLR 7, with Dura-Ace Di2 and deeper wheels as the standout upgrades.
Full Speed Concept range: SLR 7 — SLR 7 AXS — SLR 9 AXS.
HOW IT RIDES
Aero and adjustability
The Speed Concept's KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) tube shaping and fully integrated cockpit are built around one goal — minimising drag. The aerobar cockpit is adjustable across thousands of fit combinations using just Allen keys, with independently adjustable extensions, armrest positions and stack height, so the bike can be dialled in properly to your position rather than the other way around.
IsoSpeed and disc brakes
IsoSpeed carries over from Trek's road platform for genuine road-smoothing comfort — reviewers note it's a real improvement over rim-brake Speed Concept generations, even if a true triathlon bike is never going to ride like an endurance road bike. Disc brakes bring reliable stopping power and open up a wider range of compatible wheel options than the rim-brake bikes this replaced.
Integrated storage
Built-in aero hydration, fuel, and flat-kit storage keep everything you need on a long race or ride tucked out of the wind, with a genuinely spacious integrated top tube storage box — reviewers have specifically praised how well organised and usable Trek's version of this is compared to rivals.
THE FINAL WORD
Come in and we'll talk through fit — this is a bike where getting your position dialled in properly matters more than on almost any other.
